Chairndle
蝋で全体を覆ったアクリル製の椅子。
型を制作し、その中にアクリルの躯体を仕込んだ上で蝋を流し込むという、一般的なキャンドルと同じようなプロセスで制作。
型を敢えて熱に弱い軟質な素材で制作し、蝋を流し込む過程で歪みが生まれる設計とすることで、予測できないフォルムとテクスチャーを獲得。
ツルツルした面とザラザラした面がシームレスに共存し、鉱石のような仕上がりとなった。
An acrylic chair entirely covered in wax.
Created using a process similar to making candles: a mold was crafted, an acrylic body was placed inside, and wax was poured in.
The mold was deliberately crafted from a soft, heat-sensitive material. This design allows distortion to occur during the wax pouring process, resulting in an unpredictable form and texture.
Smooth surfaces and rough surfaces coexist seamlessly, creating a mineral-like finish.
