デザイン事務所・siwaza所属の2名のデザイナーによる作品展を東京・渋谷で開催中。
それぞれが異なるテーマをもとに、12脚の椅子を展示しています。
＜Drape＞
「テキスタイルから形を探る」をテーマに、国内のニット工場に協力いただき、
図案の構想から糸の選定、編み構造の試作を経て、ボリューム感とクッション性を併せ持つオリジナルの編み地を開発。
その生地を出発点として、模様や質感の特性に従って形と構造を柔軟に探るアプローチをとっています。
＜Offset＞
Offsetはズレや隔たりの意味合い。
デザインソフトや建築ソフトでも多く使われる機能(言葉)です。
素材や形、色、制作のプロセスを従来から少しズラすことで、見慣れた椅子に
別の可能性を与えます。
シンプルなフォルムや伝統的な意匠を起点としながら、小さな偏差が生み出す
違和感をまとった椅子を展示します。
An exhibition featuring works by two designers from siwaza is currently being held in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Each designer has created 12 chairs based on distinct themes.
＜Drape＞
“Exploring Form from Textiles” is our theme. With the cooperation of domestic knit factories,
we developed an original knit fabric combining volume and cushioning—from conceptualizing patterns and selecting yarns to prototyping knitting structures.
Using this fabric as our starting point, we take an approach that flexibly explores form and structure based on the characteristics of its patterns and textures.
＜Offset＞
Offset implies displacement or separation.
It's a function (and term) commonly used in design and architectural software.
By slightly shifting materials, forms, colors, and production processes from the conventional,
it grants familiar chairs new possibilities.
Starting from simple forms and traditional designs, we exhibit chairs that embrace
a sense of dissonance born from small deviations.
