Light Pattern

[光のテクスチャを作る]を出発点に、PET樹脂で表面保護を施した木製椅子。

PET樹脂はプラスチックの一種で軽量・高強度・透明度も高いなどの特性を持ち、ペットボトルの原料として使われている。

本体を設計した後に、仕立て服のようにPETでジャストサイズの保護材を制作。PET表面に折罫を入れることで独特な光の質感が生まれる。ニスや塗装では得られない光沢の仕上がりとなった。

Starting with the concept of “creating light textures,” this wooden chair features surface protection made from PET resin.

PET resin is a type of plastic known for its lightweight, high strength, and high transparency properties, commonly used as raw material for plastic bottles.

After designing the chair's body, a custom-fit protective layer was crafted from PET, much like tailoring a garment.

Applying a folding rule to the PET surface creates a unique light texture.

This process yields a glossy finish unattainable with varnish or paint.
